Internet business is now booming, and it mostly focuses to pay-per-click advertising. This involves bidding on keywords which looks like your products in your website. Pay-per-click advertising can be lucrative if you know what you're doing. In fact many home businesses are using pay-per-click advertising. If you're not careful, it could end up costing more than it's worth. If you're thinking about getting into pay-per-click advertising then no doubt you can make the most of your money from your website. It's easy to get excited and buy every keyword available, but you're likely to waste a lot of money that way. So do some research and be prepared before jumping into the pay-per-click arena.
You should pick the right keywords. Don't just buy up every keyword that's relevant to your home business you may loose lots of money in that way. Broad search terms can be very expensive. Instead, focus your keyword bidding on words that targeted niche markets will pick when looking for specific things you sell. Keep your profit margin in mind. Know your conversion rate. This is crucial to knowing your budget for your pay-per-click campaign. Know how many clicks you get before making a sale. This will tell you how much you can spend on your keywords without losing money. If your conversion rate is low, it could be the copy or graphics on your home business site. This is why test constantly. Test different headlines, different colors, different arrangements of text and links on your site, and different tones--salesy, conversational, humorous, and informative. The more you test your copy, the better you'll know what works and what doesn't. Chances are, with some vigorous testing, you can raise your conversion rate significantly. Try to use exact and phrase match. Google allows you to decide when you do and don't want your ads to show up. You can choose whether you only want your ads to appear when someone types the exact term or phrase with no extra words. Even you may want your ads to appear when someone types your word or phrase with extra words also. This what difference between "exact match" and "phrase match." Know which keywords and phrases are best targeted with no extra words, and which you can allow extra words. Get creative with spelling. People misspell often when doing keyword searches. It could be worth your while to research the common misspellings of your search terms, and buy up keywords in those categories. Misspelled keywords are often cheaper, with less competition, than the correct versions. Write targeted sales pages. When someone searching for a specific keyword lands on your page, don't let them land on a general sales page. Write a specific page designed for that keyword, and give them the links to products they're looking for. For example, if your home business sells pet toys, and your prospect clicks on your ad for "rawhide dog bone," don't dump her at the general page for all pet toys. Send her to a page specifically selling your line of rawhide bones.
